Chapter Chaser is an app that tracks your books through e-readers or reading apps, and lets you unlock rewards based on how much you read. The primary rewards you can unlock are called Buddies! They’re little collectible characters that you can display on your profile in a customizable space called a Nook.

This project consists of an app, a set of posters, two motion graphics, a character standee, 3d prints, bookmarks, and a process book. As someone who has gotten back into reading recently, I wanted this project to be both a fun companion to existing readers as well as a motivational tool for people who are struggling to get into the hobby.

I know all too well the struggle of saying you’re going to start a book, and then leaving it unopened on your nightstand for six months in favor of doom scrolling on your phone. My solution was to make something that would give books the same level of stimulation as something like a mobile game or scrolling on social media.
